Monticello in the Morning

As we were moving to Utah, our final stop before arriving at our apartment was in Monticello, Utah. This is a small town just inside the Utah border from Colorado. I woke up early that morning and couldn't go back to sleep. I took a shower and then decided to take a walk up to the Temple that was about a block away.

It was cold that morning especially walking with wet hair. Coming from Texas, I hadn't felt that cold for months. The sun was just coming up over the horizon.

I saw tulips (one of my favorite flowers) for the first time in years.

As I sat there on the curb in the quiet of the morning and watched as the rising sun shone on the Temple, I knew that everything would be just fine. All the anticipation and worry left my heart and I felt peace. I'm so glad I woke up early that day. An extra hour of sleep would not have helped me as much as a cold walk up the hill.

I have woken up early quite a few mornings to see sunrises. It is quite fun to watch them. It can be very uplifting and very peaceful. I think that whenever you are around a temple, that you are able to feel of the spirit that comes with a temple. I'm glad that you enjoyed the morning!

I really haven't seen that many sunrises. Maybe that is something I need to change in my life. It's just that whole sleep thing that makes it difficult.
