Monarch Migration

This past week we started to notice Monarch butterflies in our backyard. Aaron had planted some milkweed earlier in the spring hoping it would attract butterflies. The milkweed did just that! There were times that we saw up to four butterflies at a time fluttering around the flowers. One afternoon I took my camera outside and sat very still. This is what I saw......

These are such fascinating creatures! I feel like I could spend hours out there in the stillness of nature watching these little guys. I hope they stop by again in the spring on their way back north.

Nature

We went to Adam-ondi-Ahman. There is not a lot to say just a lot to show.

It was so wonderful to listen to the leaves blow in the wind. We could hear birds chirping. I loved the humidity and smell in the air. Everything was so lush and green. It was incredible being back in nature again. 

We took a short walk down a trail and simply enjoyed being together as a family. 

We stopped in one area and had a short family scripture study and shared what we were thankful for that day (a family tradition). It was so peaceful and calm. There are some things in life that I will never forget. There are some things in life that make everything else so worth it. Here are a few of those things and some of my favorite candid photos of all time. 

Exploration

On the Sunday afternoon of our weekend getaway, we left our hotel room and did some exploring in Snow Canyon State Park. Savanah was on the rebound with antibiotics flowing through her veins and we were all ready to get out. It had rained part of the time we were in St. George and we knew it was still snowy and cold back home so we all really looked forward to being outside.

 I finally had them all come back together for a group photo.

 Aaron took the kids up to the top of a hill and they enjoyed being on top of the world. Although not a single kid has a smile on their face.

 Savanah wasn't up for the steep climb so we stayed below and explored the area around us.

Savanah finally summoned the strength to climb to the top of a hill and wanted to show off her strength. Look at the smile on her face!

 The scenery was gorgeous and we all enjoyed the afternoon outside.
