Tourists

I took Sarah to the main tourist attractions around Utah and Idaho. It was fun pretending to be a tourist for a few days.

Our first stop was Morgan and the great Turner Farm. If you want to talk about attractions, you need to talk about this place. Actually, this sign is pretty much the extent of it.
Then we went to Idaho. We hiked up Willow Springs where the water comes out of the mountains. It is true spring water. Esteban went on the hike with us and told us we were acting like girls while we crossed part of the trail that had been washed out with the spring runoff.
After the hike, we went Napolean Dynamiting around Preston. There are lots of tourists that drive around town taking pictures of the houses and school used in the movie. We fit right in with the rest of them.

We had fun with Lauren and Aaron's dad who was our chauffeur. I think he thought we were acting like girls also. Sarah had her first taste of fry sauce. A monumental moment in her life I'm sure.

I left the kids in Idaho and returned to Salt Lake where we toured Temple Square. It is so different going to museums and tours without children. I felt like I had no responsibilities. I wasn't constantly counting heads and reminding them to use good behavior. We watched the new movie about the life of Joseph Smith. The movie is great! We both went through a package of tissues. Again, it is so different watching a movie without kids. The last time I tried to watch it, I spent most of the time out in the hall with Vanessa.

It was a beautiful day. We both enjoyed spending most of the day right on Temple Square.

We went out to dinner that night with Aaron and Sarah was able to ride in our new car. I'm sure it was one of the highlights of her trip. Aaron needs a commuter car and we wanted something with good gas mileage. This is our answer, the Toyota Echo. Aaron calls it the Tin Can. I call it the Silver Bullet (it's about the size of a bullet). It is a fun car to drive around the city and even more fun the fill up at the gas station. We figure it gets almost three-times better gas mileage than the Suburban (no surprise there).

I was exhausted by Friday afternoon. I hope Sarah had fun because I know that I did. We already made plans for her next trip and the one after that.
