Ethan was in charge of the Family Home Evening treat this week. Our tradition is, he gets to choose what we have and I make it. He came across a recipe called Willy Wonka's Nutty Crunch Surprise, essentially, it is a candy bar. I bought all the ingredients and began my meager attempt to be Willy Wonka. It didn't go so well. The recipe wasn't very clear and I tried twice in vain to caramelize sugar. In the end, the bars looked horrible, but I have to admit they didn't taste so bad. I'm considering making them again with my own ingredients. I think they would be better with caramel and coconut. Maybe, I'll be turn into Willy Wonka after all. I already have five Oompa-loompas.

I am not Willy Wonka

Ethan cracks me up. I think it is awesome that you even tried to make them. We always make changes to recipes. That is the fun with cooking. Good luck with trying to become the next Willy Wonka.
If you have any suggestions for ingredients in my new candy bar line, let me know. I would love to add some peanut butter, but AJ is allergic.
