My Sports Kid

Flag football season has drawn to a close. Esteban played quarterback this season. He really enjoyed that position. Although, he told me he can't decide if he wants to start his career as a quarterback or cornerback. He is leaning towards cornerback because, "quarterbacks have too much pressure on them". He wants to play in the NFL, but since the majority of games are played on Sunday, he's not sure that would work out. I pointed out to him that he could be a sportscaster. He pointed out to me that he only wanted to be a sports player.

He also loves to watch sports with Aaron. His favorite teams usually coincide with Aaron's favorites, but not always. Esteban loves the San Antonio Spurs. Aaron does not. My sister invited Esteban to go to a Jazz game this next season. He told her he would only go if they were playing the Spurs. She told him that she didn't like the Spurs. He replied, "I'm sorry" (he gets that attitude from his dad). I have the feeling that for years to come, I will be watching him from the sidelines. I guess it's time I learn more about the sports he wants to play.
