What I like about birthdays is hearing from family and friends. I have received phone calls and emails from friends and family near and far. It has been great! Thank you to everyone.
My parents came to visit today. They took the girls and I out to lunch and to do some shopping (eating out and shopping are two of my favorite things to do.) It was great! I have a friend in Texas who said birthdays should not be about the kid but, should be about the mother who went through labor/delivery in order to get the kid here. On that note, I was happy to celebrate my birth with my mom.
Aaron is in Dallas. He had a business trip with a major client that he couldn't get out of. I told him it was okay, I'm not a little kid anymore, we can celebrate another day. I miss him terribly as I always do when he is gone.
I grew up in a home where gifts were not all that important. I always received gifts but, as I was reminded today, it is the love that I feel from loved ones that really matters. Your love and friendship is truly the greatest gift.
