After Aaron and I were married we traveled all over watching his younger brother Mike play high school football and basketball. When the game became intense his mom would leave the gym and pace the hallways. I never understood why until last night. Esteban's game brought every emotion with it. I felt like vomiting, crying, and wetting my pants. I chewed my nails. I covered my mouth. I yelled. I did it all. Mostly, I felt like leaving the game and pacing the hall. That's the problem with outdoor venues.Anyway, enough about me, back to the game. WE WON! Our team scored three of the five goal kicks. The other team scored only two. It was the perfect ending to the perfect season! Congratulations Strikers!

Not Going to Take It
We will soon be finished with another season of soccer. When I asked Esteban which song to put with this post, this was his suggestion.
It has been a busy and hectic month and a half. Each Sunday, I make a weekly schedule. With 4 out of our 5 kids playing, we had practices or games every night of the week and usually 4 games on Saturday. We would discuss as a family who would take who to which game. We also had to schedule some dinner time each night in there as well. That was the hardest part.
There was one day Ethan and AJ were playing on adjacent fields. I stood in between the fields and cheered for both games. One lady said to me after the game, "You must have players on both fields, I've been watching you go back and forth between the two games."
By the end of the season Vanessa had enough. We have spent countless hours on the sidelines. A little girl can only take so much!
Esteban played in the championship game last night. His team has gone undefeated this season. In the regular season, his team scored 58 goals, the opposing teams combined scored 6 goals for the season. The team they played last night were in it to win it. Esteban was plowed over just after kicking in the first goal. It is so hard to be the mom when it's your kid laying out on the field with his head in his hands. He was able to get up and he continued playing.
His second goal was a header that went over the goalie and into the goalposts. He had been wanting to do that all season. It was a dream come true for him. Aaron, who helped with the coaching, promised that if anyone got a header into the goal this season, he would buy pizza for the team. (We now have 14 twelve year-old boys coming over on Wednesday.) The game ended in a tie. After two 5 minute overtime periods, it was still a tie. We were in for a shootout. Five players from each team kicked a penalty kick (only the kicker and the goalie are on the field). The team with the most goals at the end of the shootout wins the championship.

Way to go Esteban and the rest of the Womack gang!!!!!. And Happy Birthday to A J - Jonah remembered his birthday this time when he saw his picture (remember when they where little and A J figured out that him and Jonah where the same age for only 4 days?). Jonah was baptised on Sunday by Larry (it was really special for all of us). Evelyn
Congrats to Jonah! I can't believe he is that old! I'm so glad things are going well for you all.
