Bigger-n-Better

Y'all have heard that everything is bigger and better in Texas, right?
BIGGER: The state capital is not bigger than the US capital but, it is taller.
The inside of the rotunda has a 8 foot star and spells Texas.
You have to stand directly on this star to get the best view of the rotunda.
Two of our favorite statues on the grounds were those that honor the Confederate soldier and the Battle of the Alamo.
Even the fences have lonestars on them.
The door hinges are quite unique.
The drinking fountain was pretty fun to play with.
BIGGER:We had a Texas sized doughnut. They use a 5 gallon bucket to cut the dough. It comes in a box designed for a dozen doughnuts. It was pretty tasty!
BETTER:We stopped by Amy's Ice Cream. It is a local icon in Austin. The ice cream is delicious!
WORST:We also went to Rudy's. It claims to have the worst BBQ in Texas but, I completely disagree. I LOVE southern BBQ. I haven't found a place up north that even starts to compare.
BEAUTIFUL: Here is a photo I took as we were headed down a Texas highway at 80 m.p.h.
