Happy Easter! I love Easter and springtime. We don't do the Easter Bunny thing in our home. Growing up, I don't ever remember believing that a big rabbit in clothes, hopped around filling baskets for children. I can't imagine trying to explain that one. Ethan has never even believed in the tooth fairy. He said to me once, "Do you really think God would create a fairy?" He has a point. Easter Sunday for us, has always been a time to remember the resurrection of our Savior.
I always enjoy Sundays. I enjoy having a day of rest. After taking it easy for a day, then I'm ready to get back to work and tackle my to-do-list and at this point, it is a long one and getting longer as we speak. We have decided to leave Texas in the middle of May. Aaron starts work in Salt Lake on the 15th. We will withdraw the boys early from school and leave together as a family. There is so much work that needs to be done in the next few weeks. Everywhere I look there are things to be done and things to be packed. It's nice to have a day not to worry about it.
This afternoon, I went outside and laid in the hammock on the back porch while the boys played tennis ball tag (a game they invented), Savanah pretended to yell at the big bad wolf, and Vanessa was playing in the dirt (of course). It gave me a chance to relax and to think about something other than my to-do-list. I thought about the Atonement of the Savior and how everything I hold near and dear to my heart is a direct blessing that comes from His sacrifice. No matter where we go, or what we do, we are an eternal family; that is what really matters. It is nice to take a time out and remember the important things.
