Family Quote

After listening to General Conference, I have decided to add another feature to my blog. I will post a quote about families. That is really what this blog about. There are always quotes I come across that uplift me so, I thought I'll pass them on.

I loved the talk by Elder Oaks entitled, "Good, Better, Best" He spoke on the many challenges families face with their time and priorities. He talked about Martha and Mary (Luke 10:40). I sometimes have the tendency to be like Martha. I need to be more like Mary.

Another personal favorite was that of Julie B. Beck, the new Relief Society President. She spoke about the mothers of the 2000 young warriors ( You'll have to read the Book of Mormon if you don't know what I'm talking about. Start reading in Alma, Chapter 53). Their mothers taught them the gospel. They were Mothers That Know. This has always been one of my favorite scripture stories. I have often wondered, how did their mothers do it? What did they do when their boys were 12, 10, and 8 so, when the time came their boys were ready to step up to the plate and fight for good? After this talk, now I know.
