How Sweet it is!

My sister made arrangements for all of us to go to the candy factory last week. No, we did not meet Willy Wonka nor did we fall into a river of chocolate. No Umpa Lumpas either. We did get to wear hair nets (They told the kids they were called "candy hats".) since we toured the actual factory. Cell phones and camera had to be checked as well. (It's not my fault there are few pics with this post). I learned a lot about jelly beans and saw how they make cinnamon bears (I love chewy candy). They were already making taffy for Halloween. The kids favorite part of the tour was the candy store. My mom gave them each a dollar. Most of the kids filled bags of assorted taffy. I liked the candy corn taffy. AJ liked the graffiti taffy (a mixture of all different flavors).

After Sweet's Candy factory, we went to Subway. It was nice to eat a nutritious meal after all the candy. It was good to get some veggies into the kids. My mom ended up eating on the "kids table". She is such a good Grandma.
The kids all dog piled Esteban out on the lawn after lunch. The next stop was the chocolate factory. We watched a movie about the history of chocolate and how it is made. I thought it was very interesting. I love learning new things. I will appreciate chocolate even more (is that possible?). Again we each received a sample. My mom bought us all another treat. This time, I got this chocolate covered peanut butter fudge thingy that melted in my mouth. Need I say more? Really, what more do you need in life?

I'm sure we all have new cavities, but I can't even tell you how much fun we had. It was well worth it for one sweet day.
