Life's Ups and Downs

Okay, this is the last post about our trip. I know you all are getting tired of our pictures. I'm like that annoying neighbor with the slide show but, this is part of my journal. I write posts to save our memories so, please, bear with me.

Some of you know, our family loves roller coasters. Life, with it's up and downs can be just like a roller coaster. We went to Six Flags Fiesta Texas several times while we were in San Antonio.
Why the name Six Flags? Six different flags have flown over Texas soil. (France, Spain, Mexico, Republic of Texas, Confederate States, and United States.

Here are some pictures from the days we spent in the park.

The girls loved driving a big rig. They really don't understand the cost of diesel these days.
I also introduced them to the bumper car world. Vanessa enjoyed it so much that Aaron is already worried about when she gets her driver's license.
Aaron and I took turns taking the boys on different roller coasters. Here we are waiting in line.
I really liked the new Goliath coaster. I found that floorless coasters are even more fun barefoot. (You have to remove flip-flops before you can ride. With all the twists, turns, and loops they would never stay on anyway.)

I tried to keep the screaming in check. After one coaster ride Esteban said, "I yelped!". On the way to the Titan, a coaster that is 23 stories high with a drop going 87 m.p.h. underground, Aaron teased the boys, "I'm going to scream like a little girl!" Since I was with our little girls I missed that one. Bummer. The boys talked me into riding a tower ride. I found it unnerving because you don't know when you are going to drop or when you'll shoot straight up. Esteban described it as "priceless" I'm not sure I agree.

There were several coasters Savanah was tall enough to ride on. After her initial hesitations, she became a roller coaster queen. Vanessa tried a few. She would lay in the fetal position with her eyes covered throughout the ride, then when it was over, she wanted to go again. She really liked the spinning rides. Let's just say, they're not my favorite. She had to be accompanied by an adult so both Aaron and I got our fill of them.
Her favorite ride was the train that took us around the park. This ride was always nice when we needed a rest.
We spent one day at White Water Bay, the water park inside of Fiesta. We went around the river as a family. Esteban was "kind" enough to make sure I went under every waterfall. I also received a bad sunburn. I know you all get tired of the "everything-is-bigger-and-better-in-Texas" but, really this was a Texas sized sunburn.
Esteban tried the three-point contest. He was the only white kid and the youngest to try. He wasn't the least bit intimidated. He had 40 seconds to make 12 shots. He made 5, which was the average. Go Steb Go!He won a stuffed bear with a Spurs hoodie that Savanah took for her own. He also won a Scooby-Doo for Vanessa. This is her Scooby face. They built this park in an old quarry. They made some beautiful waterfalls.

At night, they turn off the waterfalls and project a program on the cliff side. The fireworks were awesome! The program reeked with Texas pride so, I'll spare the details. You know we loved it!

My dad works with emergency management in my hometown. For me, things like this are fascinating. I'm sure out of the thousands of people in the park that day, I was the only one to take a picture of the first aid golf cart. Here's one for you dad.
We had so much fun on our trip. This my favorite picture. I love all those little kids even with all of life's ups and downs having four-n-more.
P.S. So I lied, here is a post on Turner Tastes about breakfast in Texas
