Church: Always an Adventure

Yesterday, was one of those days.

It all started when the mission president and his wife sat right in front of me in Sacrament Meeting. He just happens to be Richard G. Scott's brother. I tried to keep the kids quiet. Then, Nanny decides to get her dad's attention by yelling, "Dad! Dad!" She managed to get his attention and everyone else's in between. Then, she said, "Mom, why won't he wave to me?" People around us were smiling. I was not. A little while later, she pulls her headband off and tries to put it back on. I wish I had a picture of her, because there is no way to describe what she looked like. She thought she was beautiful. Her hair was piled on top of her head and going in every direction. The sister behind us could not stop laughing. Even I got the giggles this time. I was happy that President & Sister Scott sat in front of us and not behind us. That wouldv'e been worse. I was also happy that I only had to take Nessa out once. Some weeks, I spend a good portion of the meeting walking back and forth. When I have to take her out, it leaves the others by themselves, and that is not a good thing.

When Air came home from his meetings, I asked how church was for him. He said it is never a good sign when a police officer walks through the door. I guess some of the 11 year-old-boys got into a scuffle in the bathroom. One of the parents heard it and called the police. Air ended up with the boys, their parents, and the officer all in his office. No charges were filed and he thought that everybody went home feeling better. He wasn't sure what the officer thought about Mormons, however. That is just not a good way to introduce someone to the church.

I don't know, after that, Sacrament Meeting didn't seem so bad after all.

Isn't church always an adventure? With kids there seems to never be a dull moment, and especially in sacrament meeting. I have enjoyed reading your blog and I like your code names, especially Air's. They are awesome. Keep it coming!

It's so true! I think it's interesting when people talk about sleeping in church. When I get home, I feel like I just ran a full marathon. I probably did.
As far as the codenames, I don't think he finds it as funny as I do. That'okay.
