This morning Aaron and I cleaned out our garage while the kids did their chores. It was very romantic!
They say everything is bigger in Texas. That does not include garages and backyards. At least where we live.
Here are a few photos of the finished product.
Not that I am trying to show off or brag. I just don't know how long the cleanliness will last so I needed photographic proof that it really did happen. You know how garages are, everything stays in its proper place for about 5 minutes.
The nice thing is that I know my love for my husband does last. It has lasted for the past twenty Valentine's Days. I am hoping for many more Valentine's Days to come. In fact, I look forward to eternity with my valentine!!

Doorbell Ditching
Savanah woke up bright and early Saturday morning ready to make Valentine's for her friends. I thought this was a great idea especially since I wasn't feeling well. (I have a cold, so you don't need to even think the word "pregnant".) Anyway, I thought this would occupy her time and energy while I rested. When she finished, she informed me I needed to drive her around the neighborhood so she could deliver the valentines. She had written a list of her friends and numbered them in the order she wanted to deliver the valentines.
I have to admit I wasn't thrilled about driving around the neighborhood but finally decided to do it so she wouldn't keep bugging me about it. (I know, not my best mom moment.) After the first two houses I had to go home to get my camera. I was laughing so hard and wanted to share.
She crept slowly to each house, laid the valentine on the step, rang the doorbell........
She crept slowly to each house, laid the valentine on the step, rang the doorbell........
The problem was she got caught at every house.
I think she was caught because: #1-It was broad day light. #2-I parked in front of each house out in plain sight. #3-She ran straight for our van instead of hiding #4-It was Saturday morning when everybody is sitting at home.
It was fun and I'm happy I finally gave in. I fell in love with being a mom and watching my kids learn and grow. That's what Valentine's day is all about.

Feeling the Love
This year for Valentine's day breakfast I made pink pancakes. When a friend of mine made a similar festive breakfast, her daughter relied, "I have the best mom in the world!" Ethan's response to me was, "No offense Mom, but can I have cereal instead?"
Vanessa wanted cake for FHE treat earlier in the week. I make a square cake and a round cake. I cut the round cake in half and placed the halves on top of the square cake turned side-ways into a diamond. I frosted it with pink frosting and asked Vanessa, "What does it look like?" She replied, "A hippo." That was not the response I was hoping for but, I'll take it.
After making a last minute trip to the doctor's office and a busy day taking care of a sick child, I wasn't up to making the lasagne I had planned on so I stopped by to pick up pizza with everybody else in town. We had a relaxing night at home eating our pizza.
So, it wasn't the "perfect" Valentine's day. That's okay. I don't need to be showered in gifts and pampered all day to know that I'm loved. I spent the day with those I love doing the things I love, therefore, I was feeling the love. Happy Valentine's Day!
