Air and I went apartment shopping today. Originally, when we knew we were going to be moving back, we thought it would be nice to live with family and save money. Now, we feel it is better to save family and spend money on rent. I would hate for our parents to decide they like us better 1800 miles away, a month after we moved in with them.
We searched apartments on the web, narrowed it down to 6-7 properties, and set out to visit them today. We soon learned that the State of Utah has a law that only 2 people can live in each room that is rented. Therefore, because we have 5 kids over the age of 1, we cannot live in a three bedroom apartment. We could buy a 1 bedroom house, we could live in a three bedroom apartment with 4 kids and 2 70-pound dogs, but with our 20 pound Nessa we have to rent a 4 bedroom apartment. She has started panting like a puppy everytime she sees a dog, does that count? This narrowed our choices of properties to 2. Well, we decided we are way too attached to all of our kids to give one up, so we went looking for complexes that offer 4 bedrooms.
We did find a nice place out of the city where his commute would only be 25 minutes and it is very close to some friends of ours from Texas. We put our names down on the waiting list and left a deposit. We will only sleep in three bedrooms and have a playroom just like we do now. The three boys love rooming together. I think it has a lot to do with staying up late talking instead of sleeping. They think they are so sneeky. So, we are hoping come June we have a nice place to call home. It doesn't matter where home is, as long as we're there with our 5 kids and no dogs.
