Easter Party

Today, AJ is having an Easter party at school. Last week, his teacher sent home a list of things that he needed to take. I didn't think to write them on my grocery list and, of course, couldn't remember what they were when I was at the store. I knew he needed an Easter basket, but figured I would just get it later with the other things he needed. I planned to go to Walmart last night, but then, the girls were grouchy so I decided I could just go this morning. It's never that easy. AJ's class was having their egg hunt at 8:15 so I hurried to the grocery store, of course they have no Easter baskets left, the ones we have at home are pink and he can't have a "girly" basket. I bought the candy, confetti eggs, and drinks for the class. I left him the plastic grocery bag to use as his Easter basket. I hope it doesn't traumatize him for life. I try to be organized, but I always find that I'm one of those moms running down the school hall at the last minute with his party supplies. As I drove home, I promised myself that next time I'll be better and actually plan ahead. That sounds easier than it is.

there's nothing wrong with a plastic bag as an easter basket! still hold the eggs just as good. i can't imagine going to the grocery store before 8:00 AM, let alone driving to it in a car. sigh.....

I was actually surprised at the number of people shopping early in the morning. Most of which, were obviously grabbing a few things before going to work and I wasn't the only mom searching for school party supplies. There isn't a day go by that I don't drive somewhere, I guess that is one more way our lives are so different.
