I was reminded the other day, when I was filling out an application for the boys school, that Aaron graduated from college this month. Normally, it would be a monumentous occasion, but with the move and all, I probably overlooked it more than I should have.
If I might brag for a moment, he started back to school just over a year ago. He missed the first day of classes for the birth of Vanessa (now, that is a story to be told another time). Since then, he has taken no less than 20 credit hours. Over the summer, he took 15 hours, an unheard of number for a short semester. He had to get special permission to take that many hours; the next semester he took 24 hours. The hardest part for him was managing all the test dates and homework due. He remembers everything he reads (which makes me sick) and he is a good test taker. His professors seemed to love him even when he would challenge their views in class. The other students wanted him to tutor them, he just didn't have the time. Remember, he really stood out in class because he was the old, white guy getting his major in Spanish. The most amazing part of it all is that he only received 2 B's. He grade point average at Pan Am was 3.92 over-all. What takes most people four years, he did in just over two. The credits that they wouldn't accept from Utah State before his mission, he took via CLEP.
Keep in mind through all of this he had a family of five kids to support, was the Bishop, and was running his own company. He says the Lord really blessed him in order to do it all. I know this is true. I also know he is an amazing man and I'm grateful that he is mine.

congrats Aaron! way to be done with college. at least this phase. i'm sure i won't be surprised if i read two months down the line that you've enrolled at byu for your master's, since i know your dream is to go to that stellar university. ha ha!
It's actually a possibility. He has seriously looked into their graduate programs. He would like to be a roofer with a master's in linguistics.
i'm glad to see that aaron is finally seeing the light and realizing the divinity of the byu. in all seriousness, they do have a pretty good linguistics program. but i still can't see aaron being a cougar.
Now, he claims that he's always liked BYU. I think he's loosing his memory due to his old age.
"Rise and Shout the Cougars are Out."
HOLY CRAP! What is this talk about BYU. WE are AGGIES through and through. Colette, don't let Melissa convert you. by the way, this is Maggie. I can't post comments unless i am anonymous. So sorry about that.
Thanks for the comment. The main thing is that we are no longer residents of Utah and it takes years to get in-state residency. The other thing is trying to find a good job for him in Cache Valley was impossible. Thus, it looks like BYU, but that is at least a year or two away.
