SPRING!!!!!

We are having unusually warm weather for this time of year. I am so ready for springtime and I am not the only one. I've noticed more people out walking or jogging. It is nice to have the kids play outside more. There are many signs that it's time for the seasons to change. The snow is all but melted. Some of the trees are already budding.
There are tulips, starting to grow. I can't wait to see how many more poke up out of the ground.
We discovered there are goldfish in our pond. I guess the poor things finally thawed out. The first day I saw only three, the next day there was over 20. I wonder if Snow White (the cat we inherited from Aaron's parents) also discovered the fish in the pond. I found her hanging out by the well.
The most joy I felt about the warmer weather was when I found this little flower.
There is hope after all. I am so grateful for spring. It has always been my favorite time of year and now, I am reminded why. I think it is a blessing from the Lord for enduring the winter.

We didn't even know we had goldfish in our pond until the other day. We were quite suprised.

Do fish hibernate? Our little fishies somehow survived a winter in a frozen pond.

You are welcome to visit anytime.

Colette, I found the answer to your question:
Fish typically don't freeze under the ice as they have slightly higher concentrations of ions (salinity) than water, and therefore, have a lower freezing point than water. Fish that live in very cold climates have different abilities to deal with freezing temperatures. For example, some fish have blood that contains "antifreeze" compounds that depress the freezing point of their body fluids and make it possible for them to live in water that is colder than the freezing point of most fish blood.
Here's the website I found the info at:

Here is another question for you. If I'm related to somebody who is smart, does that make me smart? I think it does. Thanks for the info.
