Party Animal
It all started a week ago Sunday, AJ's eighth birthday. My parents, grandmother, brother, and his family all came up for Sunday dinner. We had cake and ice cream for dessert.
The next day I took snacks into his class. One of his best friends and classmate was celebrating his birthday on Monday.
The day before his birthday AJ asked me what time his party was. I said,"What do you mean?" He replied, "I have already told all of my friends that I was having a birthday party." We had his three best friends over after school on Friday. AJ wanted a chocolate Texas cake.
He opened his presents Elvis style.
His friends loved sitting out on the front porch swing while they ate their ice cream cones.
Then, this Saturday, we celebrated birthdays with his cousin Milo and the rest of my family.
We are still not done. This Saturday he is getting baptized and both of our families are coming over to the house after for a BBQ. The kid is a party animal!

It looks as if they were having such a great time. Jonah said that next year he wanted a cake in the shape of Texas, just like AJ's cake (I may have to borrow your cake pan !!!!!!). Happy Birthday AJ from the Lear family.
I bought the cake pan at HEB. If you can't find one, let me know and I'll ship ours to you then you can ship it back when you are finished.
The boys love choosing which city they are going to eat. Obviously, Austin and Edinburg are the most popular choices.
I love birthdays!! I have been celebrating my birthday for a whole week ever since I turned 25. It is the best way to make yourself feel better about getting older! I love that AJ has been celebrating for days and days!
AJ is eight? Oh wow! Tell him happy birthday from down here in Texas.
Normally, I think 1 party/kid/year is enough, but 8 is a special birthday. I've let it slide this year. He can start partying for days again when he is 25.
