Primary Activity

This activity actually took place a while back, I just realized I never wrote about it.

We had a primary activity with the children in our ward where we taught them about putting on the Armor of God. The Primary President that I work with is very creative, as are the other counselor and secretary (I'm just along for the ride). Each of the kids received a "shield" to wear around their necks. They had to sing the program songs in order to earn jewels to put on their shields. Then, they were divided into teams where they had to escape the "fiery darts" (teachers) while helping the younger children pick up more jewels. For any of you who have ever worked in the Primary, you know how satisfying it was for the teachers to chase the kids beating them with pool noodles.)
After that, the kids had to go through an obstacle course, all along the way, quoting scriptures we are trying to learn this year. Lastly, they had to pass the dragons (more Primary teachers with the satisfying jobs of growling and chasing down the kids).
As a treat, they were awarded a "sword" Popsicle. The Primary President tied it all together with a few words about a how this applies to our lives and the importance of protecting ourselves from evil.
It was a lot of fun! The kids and the teachers seemed to have a blast!
