I took her to the doctor's office where he had to literally dig it out. It was even bigger than any of us expected. I had to hold her in my arms while she was on the procedure table. It was a traumatizing experience for both of us. They gave Savanah a teddy bear since she had to get two shots and 3 stitches. They also gave her the sliver in a specimen cup and syringe. She takes her bear and her cup every where we go now.

Mr. Pokey
I'm still recovering from the pneumonia. The fatigue is the hardest thing to deal with. I recently taught Vanessa how to point and click the mouse so she could entertain herself on the computer and I could stay on the couch. She has to use both hands, one to move the mouse and the other to click. She loves her little preschool games and I love the much needed rest.
We finally sold our Suburban. Savanah was quite upset. See, we would let them eat in the Suburban and we won't let them eat in our new van. She asked,"Why can't we sell the van instead?" Well, because it is newer, has less miles on it, and gas prices are horrendous. Anyway, we spent the money on a new computer, yeah! It is sorely needed now the all the kids spend time on the computer. The other day, Aaron and I were setting up the new computer in our study. Our study is over 100 years old and has hard wood floors. There is one little place where the wood changes directions. Savanah was sitting in that particular area playing. She slid across it, and since she was wearing a princess gown, she got a sliver in her bottom. We couldn't see the sliver because it broke off but, we could feel it inside. We knew the sliver was big and deep.
She named the sliver Mr. Pokey. It really is big enough that it should be named!
She can't bath for a week, so she took her first shower and really liked it. After helping her wash her hair, I was just as soaked as if I had taken a shower. I have to help her go to the bathroom which has reminded me how grateful I am that all my kids are potty trained. She is on antibiotics to ward off infection and we have to monitor the wound carefully as there is no way to tell if Mr. Pokey splintered off inside.(So far so good.) Luckily, she has no activity restrictions, in fact, she played a soccer day the next day. I'm grateful that she is doing well, however, I'm not grateful that Mr. Pokey joined our family.
