My Little Painter

Yesterday, while I was washing dishes, Vanessa came into the kitchen to inform me she wants to be a painter when she grows up. I asked her, "Have you been painting?" A big smile formed across her face and she nodded her head.
For those of you who are not parents, when a 3 year old paints by themselves, it is never a good thing.

I followed her upstairs and into my green room, which yesterday morning looked like this.
If you recall from the previous post, this is where I keep my crafts organized in the closet. The same closet Vanessa discovered yesterday. This is the result.
We walked into the room and with the biggest smile on her face, she asked me,"Do you like it?"
Well, it is quite artistic and all but,
NOT ON MY WALL !!!
Well, I didn't yell or scream. I tried to smile but, I'm sure it looked more like a grimace.
The good news is: I was able to scrub it out of the carpet.
The bad news is: Her artwork on the wall will remain a fixture in our home.
I think instead of the green room, I will now call this room Vanessa's art studio.

Wow...good thing your house isn't on the market anymore, right? I'm not sure how I'd react to that. I'd be all for locking up the paints, glue, crayons, all that stuff...

Yeah, I had to "reorganize" my craft closet. All of the paint, markers, and glue are now on the very top shelf.

Since we don't use this room I didn't think she would discover my crafts. Obviously, she went exploring and found a treasure chest.
