Family Photos

My good friend, Heather, took our family pictures a few months ago. My only stipulation was that we take the pictures in our back yard. I loved the idea of our barn and red fence as backdrops. I have posted the kid's individual photos in previous posts. The family photo made our annual Christmas card.

I have received lots of comments about the Texas shirts.They were not my first choice for pictures but, they are the only matching clothes that we have. Do you realize how hard it is to match Aaron to Vanessa and everyone in between? I didn't want to buy everyone new clothes just for one photo session so I decided to go with what we had. Plus, that's part of who we are as a family.

I was really happy with the results from the session except for myself. (Typical woman.) Then I had a great idea. Aaron brought home a computer from work with Photoshop. I have no instruction manual but I was told to do the Photoshop tutorials on YouTube. The first tutorial I did was "Virtual Diet". They made it look so easy to manipulate the body. I gave it a try on our family photo. Here's the problem, you see Aaron's arm next to me. When I shrunk my waist, it expanded his arm. That's okay if his arm looks all distorted as long as my waist looks better, right?

In the long run I left the photo as it is. I'll change my body in the gym rather than on the computer.
