At Home in the Valley

After a short time in Austin, we headed for our old stomping grounds, the Rio Grande Valley. Just to clarify, this is no geographical valley. The terrain is flat. It is a valley by name only.

The kids wanted to go to South Padre Island where we met up with some friends of ours, the Rawlings. The kids loved using the secret passage way to get to the beach.
They enjoyed playing football in the ocean.
They caught some tiny fish but, we refused to let them take them home for pets. (In know we're such party-poopers.)

That night I went to a baby shower for Sandra. She is like an adopted daughter to us. We are so happy for her and her husband to be welcoming their first baby.
We visited church the next day. It was great seeing so many of our friends. The church is always growing and each time there are more and more new faces. It's always great to catch up with so many close friends. We couldn't stay long because Vanessa had a fever. We tried these cold paks which seemed to help along with some medicine.
Savanah wanted to try one. Not because she was sick but, just because she was hot.
After a short time in the Valley, we headed back to San Antonio where our adventure continued.........

Aww I'm jealous you got to catch up with the Rawlings at South Padre Island. How are they doing? Any new Edinburg gossip?
And btw I love how you keep us tuned in for next time on each of your posts. :)
