Another time, she cleaned her room by packing all of her toys into party treat bags and dumping them on the dresser. I'm just not sure this counts as cleaning.
A few weeks later, she decided she needed even more money. This time, she set up shop on the front porch selling paper fans.
Her best friend, Madi, joined the business venture. After 5 minutes and not selling a single fan she came in the house quite disappointed. I sent her back out to her "shop" and bribed the other kids to go buy fans from her.
She was happy with the look of her cash box in the end.
If she decides she doesn't like the business world afterall, she could always become a dancer. My neighbor bought these dresses for the girls for $5 on ebay. The girls were ecstatic! They put on a dance recital in our living room.
I asked Madi why she closed her eyes when she danced. She told me it makes her look even more beautiful. Who am I to argue?
They took turns posing for the camera and enjoyed the afternoon being little girls.
Maybe Vanessa will pursue a career in medicine. I hear that's where the money is but, I don't know if medicine is the best career field for her. One day she had a small mosquito bite on her chin and put four band-aids on it. I just don't know if it would work for her since most insurance companies don't like doctors that over-treat patients.
She could find work in outdoor adventure. One night she decided to "camp" on the floor next to the bed in our room . She moved all of her stuff in and was ready to call it home.
She could always try to make money with a modeling contract. While Savanah prefers jeans, t-shirt, and a ponytail, Vanessa likes bling.
In fact, when I took her school shopping she wanted to stop by the jewelery counter first. This is what she wore on "blue day" at school. She does like to pose for the camera.
When some friends came over, she insisted on a tea party where she was the waitress. Such high asperations! No offense to those who have worked in the food service industry, myself included, but I only made $3.68/hour. By the way, don't you love the black Ed Hardy headband?.
The other day she informed me she wants me to call her "Vanessa Fiesta". How fitting is that? Life with Vanessa is a constant party.

Vanessa Fiesta in Ed Hardy, priceless!!!
Kids are hilarious. Can you just see all us big girls dancing around with our eyes closed or seriously trying to sell something on our front porch?? Tell little Ms. Fiesta I had a career in the food business and quite enjoyed it.. (I did, however, work at a respectable place where you kept your clothes on the whole shift..) You can also tell her that some little girls at the Wellsville Rodeo were walking around selling rocks that they had literally just picked up from the ground in front of us.. and I ofcourse bought 2.. for 5 cents each. Just an idea!
You're funny.
You are such a fun blogger, I love to read your posts. You should have been a journalist, News would be so much more fun to read.
