I grew up listening to country music but I haven't listened to it for years. Aaron recently bought the George Strait song, "The Breath You Take." We listened to it while driving to southern to enjoy the kid's fall break from school.
The lyrics as the song ends are:
"Life's not the breaths you take,
The breathing in and out,
That get's you through the day,
Aint what it's all about.
You just might miss the point
If you don't slow down the pace.
Life's not the breaths you take
But the moments that take your breath away."
Realizing I only have a few years left of having all my kids under one roof made this trip even more meaningful. These are some of the moments that took my breath away.
We stopped many times for mini photo shoots.Ethan did some digging along the trail.
Este found the perfect spot for the Heisman pose.
Aaron did the Karate Kid.
AJ pondered the meaning of life. After our visit to Goblin Valley State Park where the boys led us on a trail through the back end of the park they learned about a few years ago when we visited with my family, we went to Little Wild Horse Canyon the next day.
This canyon is called a slot canyon because the trail runs through a narrow slot in the rocks.
We LOVED it!
Of course every picnic need a little game of football.
The kids took the football game back to the hotel and finished it in the pool.
It is so nice to take a moment to enjoy life and just breathe......

Looks fabulous! I have never been there...time to plan a trip! Loved the pics! I have those same thoughts quite often--these kids will be gone before we know it! :(
I love these places! We've been to Little Wildhorse as well. It is a great little slot canyon! Happy New Year!
Ammon could introduce you to plenty more slot canyons with a rappelling rope if you guys enjoyed it that much...
