Up Dog Hot Dog

Part of the adventure  of traveling involves the local food. When we asked a sister missionary at the visitors' center where to eat, she rattled off some national chains but when she mentioned a local hot dog joint our interest perked up and we were headed for Independence Square to Up Dog hot dog shop.
They had a wide variety of hot dogs. None of us were brave enough to try the PB&J dog (yep, peanut butter and jelly on a hot dog). Half our family had the Missouri Dog (bacon, mustard, pickle spear, and shredded cheese) and the other half had the Colombian Dog (pink sauce, mozzarella cheese, and crumbled potato chips).  Vanessa had the mini dogs.
Savanah loved her dog even after removing the pickle spear.
The little smashed potato chips on his hot dog reminded Aaron of home in Venezuela.
It was great food (even for a hot dog) and the memories with the family were even better.

I totally agree with you! We like eating at local places. We have found some great food up here that way. Yummy!
