The Last Card

I LOVE CHRISTMAS CARDS!!

Christmas cards are one of my favorite things this time of year. It's the only time I actually go out to the mailbox on a daily basis.

This year I found a new way to display all the cards we received.  Just a little ribbon and some paperclips helped decorate my kitchen and I felt like I was surrounded by family and friends whenever I was cooking and cleaning. It made me happy all season long. Thank you to everyone who sent a card.
I ordered our Christmas cards the very first chance I had. They were printed and shipped on December 10th. They would be delivered within days. I waited, and waited, and waited......

...and called the company (there was no tracking number) and waited some more.

They finally arrived on December 27th!! The late arrival didn't stop me though, I still sent them all out.
I realize that our Christmas card will be the last one to arrive for most people. It will be delivered long after card displays have been taken down. That's ok. I send out cards to let people know that we think of them. I want everyone who has been part of our lives, either in the past or the present, to know that they are important to us still.

Through this process, I have learned patience, humility, and I promise, I will never judge another late Christmas card again. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!!
