We came home late from the Stake Center last night after Aaron was set apart as Bishop. We were one of the last ones to leave the building. We were emotionally and physically exhausted, not to mention we were all starving. When we returned home there sat on our porch a plate of cookies. A family from the ward had brought them over.
That plate of cookies was so much more than just a thoughtful treat. It was reassurance that everything is going to be okay. It was a reminder that we are surrounded by great people. It lets me know that the Lord knows exactly what I need.
Thank you for this small act of kindness. It is interesting that such a small act of service can be such a wonderful gift. It will never be forgotten.
(The above photo is not the actual cookies that were left on our step. Those were devoured long before the thought of taking a photo. Those cookies were gone as soon as they were brought into the house.)
