State Fair

We have been really busy the last little while. I put off posting the pictures until now. The boys are back "on track" (in school), which means, I have more time to spend on the computer. We had a lot of fun while they were on their break. I'll fill you in on our adventures.

We took the kids to the Utah State Fair a couple of weeks ago.

AJ and Savanah enjoyed seeing the cow sculpture made completely of butter. It was in a special storage container so it wouldn't melt. I like butter, but not that much.

Vanessa loved the ducks & geese. (She takes after her father in more ways than one.)
We also saw "Ross" the boss, a 900 pound pig. No, thankfully, I didn't take a picture. I'm also grateful the kids aren't interested in having a pig for a pet.

The kids enjoyed riding the rides except for Vanessa who cried the time she was on the Merry-Go- Round. I stood next to her, but she cried "Dad! Dad!" throughout the ride. I thought she would like it, bacuse she loves horses. I guess not. I think it tramatized her.

We sat in a burning house exhibit as they demonstrated home sprinking systems. The kids and I rode in an earthquake simulator. That traumatized me.

The local TV channel had an exhibit. The kids were amazed to see themselves on TV.

The older boys refused to pose for any pictures so I took this one without them knowing. I think I will title it "I Believe I can Fly". I haven't been to the state fair since I was growing up. I decided it was a really fun way to spend the afternoon together as a family.
