Sick Days

I just realized anyone who checked my blog for the past few days, has been greeted by the picture of my messy house. I should have put the picture of my clean house first. I guess in the future I need to plan my leave of absence better. This time it wasn't planned.

On Saturday, Esteban, AJ, Savanah, and I went to my parents home to help them with a few things. I planted tulips and daffodils. I have to plant the bulbs in the fall so they grow in the spring. These are my favorite flowers and since I don't have a house of my own, I'm using my mom's. Esteban and AJ were going up to the property my parents own in the mountains with my dad to burn some wood they had cleared this summer. Again, this is something that has to be done in the fall when the foliage is dead and wet and less likely to start a forest fire. When we walked into their house Esteban lost his breakfast on the floor. Therefore, AJ was able to spend some rare one-on-one time with Grandpa in the mountains.

Sunday morning the whole family woke up sick. The girls and I have been sharing a cold all week. We were constantly coughing and sneezing. The boys, Aaron, and I were all nauseated. I don't know why I had to suffer with both groups. I guess that is part of being the mom. So, we all stayed home from church. We had a movie marathon, watching movie after movie.

Esteban & Ethan stayed home from school yesterday. Than last night, Vanessa was awake for 4 hour in the middle of the night. Needless to say, neither Aaron & I received much sleep either. I realized there is no such thing as a "sick day" when you are the mom.

You folks need a nurse! Wait, you are a nurse. Okay. You wear too many hats. You can't be the mom and the nurse and the camp counselor all at once! I hope you are able to get some much needed sleep soon!

I slept so good last night.I was just exhausted. It's amazing what a good night's sleep can do. The kids all seem to be doing better as well. We are all slowly returning to normal life.
