Family Reunion

Last week we went to a family reunion on my side of the family. It was actually a lot of fun. I was able to see some of my cousins, aunts, and uncles that I haven't seen for a really long time.

After a delicious pot luck lunch we brought out the hose and water toys for the kids. It was a really hot day, making the water games a great idea.

At one point, AJ sought refuge under a tin tub from Ethan and a cousin.
Later, Ethan used the tub for another purpose. Vanessa like the idea and added more water. When her shirt became wet she just took it off. Luckily, I was related to everyone in the park so it didn't matter if she stripped down. As you can see, she wasn't the only one.

Savanah enjoyed getting to know some of her second cousins. She loves playing with older kids, older girls especially (I think it is because she has so many older brothers.)
Of course, Vanessa waited until I put back on her shirt to find a little patch of mud that she found quite enjoyable.

The kids all had fun and slept soundly as I drove home. There really is something about playing in water that puts kids right to sleep.
