Ethan turned 10 years old on the 10th of July. We spent most of the day driving home from Texas. He wasn't very happy about spending his birthday in the car. My mom surprised him by fixing his favorite dinner (fish sticks and Rice-a-Roni) and having a birthday cake waiting when we arrived at her house.
Another highlight of his birthday was loosing one of his teeth.
On Friday the 13th, we had a party for him with his friends. He invited 4 friends over for pizza and cake. Then we took them miniature golfing. After the party, our family went to the new Harry Potter movie.
I have this thing about decorating cakes. I love to do it even though I've never taken the classes. (It's on my to-do list when all the kids are in school a few years from now.) I couldn't find my writing tip so I had to improvise. I decorated his cake with his two favorite colors green and orange. One of his friends said the orange frosting looked like peanut butter. It did actually look like peanut butter. (You have to love the honesty of a 10 year-old boy). The nice thing is that Ethan is pretty easy to appease and he was happy anyway.Sunday, July 15, 2007

I just can't believe that Ethan is already 10. I, too, love making cakes, but they don't come out nice like yours. Hopefully in the near future I plan to take some classes on cake decorating.
You need to borrow my bug cake pan and make some cakes for your kids. Maybe that's what we can do when I come and visit you! Hopefully sooner or later but it looks like I'll be heading to NYC again for most of next week. I have to come and see you soon! We will make this happen!
Ethan would love a bug cake and I would love to decorate a bug cake, with or without the classes.
.. i love ethan so much, and he seriously is to smart for his own good, but his intellagence will take him far, i know it. give him a huge hug for me first, then hug the rest of your awesome kids =D
<3 u guys
I will give Ethan a hug for you. I am so happy he hasn't "outgrown" hugs from mom. I dread the coming of that day. Thanks for the comment.
