On our vacation, we spent a day at
Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. I don't know what it is about amusement parks and roller coasters. Why do we pay money to scare ourselves only to say later how fun it was? Our family had a screaming good time.
Aaron and the boys rode on
Boomerang. They all seemed to enjoy themselves even though later, AJ whispered to me, "I screamed like a little girl."
Then I rode with Esteban and Ethan on the
Superman: Krypton Coaster. I decided as th

e ride started, that I wasn't going to scream. That last all of 2 seconds. I screamed so hard I thought my tonsils would pop out. At the end of the ride, Ethan said "Wow, those people behind us sure did scream a lot." Than he realized, "Wait a minute, that was you!" Needless to say, it was. The video on the website is nothing compared to hanging in your seat speeding at 70 m.p.h. towards a nearby cliff.
Esteban and I rode on the
Rattler. This is a really old wooden roller coaster. I don't think it i

s healthy to ride. I had the worst headache when I got off. I really shakes you inside and out. I only screamed once when we went through a dark tunnel. The rest of the time I had my mouth clenched shut in order to keep my teeth from rattling.
Even the girls got in on the screaming action. Savanah rode on a kiddie roller coaster and was so proud that she didn't even scream. The next time she rode it, she screamed. Her favorite ride the entire day was the merry-go-round (no screaming involved).

Vanessa liked Daffy's School Bus Express. Although it only went around in slow circles she screamed with delight the entire time. She also liked riding in the engine of the "Choo, Choo, Train". (She has this thing about closing her eyes when she smiles for the camera.)

We also spent some time in the water park: White Water Bay We all enjoyed going around the river together as a family. Then I took the boys down some water slides. AJ was barely tall enough to ride The Twister. I went after him and I have to say it was the scariest waterslide I have ever been on in my entire life. It was in a black tube so it was pitch black. I was going really fast and I had water spraying in my face so I couldn't scream because I couldn't breathe. When I finally reached the bottom alive and well AJ said, "That was so fun!" I replied, "No it wasn't! I thought I was going to die!" Two teenage girls laughed as they overheard our conversation. Aaron found The Twister anti-climatic after I told him about it. He explained to me that you are supposed to lay on your back with your feet crossed then the water doesn't hit your face (it sure would have been nice to know that before I went on the ride especially since I will never go on it again)
In spite of the fact that I returned to the hotel with a sore throat, we all had a great time and can't wait till we return.
