Happy Birthday Esteban!

Wednesday was Esteban's 12th birthday. Honestly, in my mind, I still see him as my baby boy. He is (I hate to admit it) all grown up.

He has virtually taught himself to play the piano with little help from mom or dad.As you can tell from the picture, he is an awesome big brother. The girls adore him. He babysits for us all the time. It is nice to not have to call a sitter every time we go out.
He recently taught a Family Home Evening lesson on Captain Moroni's war stratagem,
complete with visual aides.
He is working hard in scouts and is excited to leave Primary and start in the Young Men's program at church. He is doing great in school. He loves soccer and playing with his team. I love that we can carry on adult conversations. He is almost as tall as me so, we talk face to face.

As a mother I haven't decided. Do I love to see my kids mature and grow? Is it too hard to see them get older knowing the inevitable is coming? He is one day going to leave home. I don't even like to think about it. Since I am indecisive, I guess I'll just have to take it one day at a time and enjoy every minute of it. With Esteban as my son, enjoyment is the easy part. Happy Birthday, Steb!

Wow! Happy Birthday Estaban! I can't believe how quickly that seemed to happen. I was in High School when he was born. That is amazing. I like seeing my kids grow up, but sometimes I wish that just for a few minutes a day I could go back to them being little, just to remember. I've got to say though, I am so excited to have grandkids. I'll at least have eight as that is how many kids Bailey wants :).

Aaron keeps reminding me that someday I'll have grandkids. The nice thing about that, you get to hold the babies and then go home and sleep all night.

I do remember when you guys moved to south Texas and he was just a little baby. He looks like such handsome young man now. Happy belated birthday.

Esteban was 6 months old when we moved to Texas. Both of our parents could care less where Aaron and I moved to but, they were not happy when we took our baby with us. It must be that grandparent thing we were just discussing.
