We haven't taken the kids to Mexico for years. They enjoyed walking on the bridge over the Rio Grande River.

Of course, they thought it was so cool to straddle the boundary line while having each foot in a different country.
Near the Mexican checkpoint, I took this picture.
We weren't in Mexico for very long. We knew what we were looking for and exactly where to find it. The US government changed border crossing policies since our last visit so, before we left Utah, I had to dig out all of the kid's birth certificates. Previously, we didn't have to prove the kids were US citizens or that they belonged to us. I think the blonde hair was a give away. I don't think the border patrol agent for this trip was interested in sorting out the birth certificates and kids to figure out which was which. After looking at my and Aaron's passports, he waved us on. I think the blonde hair was a give away.

Wait! I need to place a vanilla order... oh well. I am guessing I am too late. Next time, I'd like a case of it! I am glad that you are on a vacation. We just returned from a SMALL vacation, too. I hope you are having the best time!
Love you guys,
Brenda
Let me know how much vanilla you need and we'll see what we can do. Next time we go, a case of vanilla for you is on the list of things to buy.
I hope you all enjoyed your vacation. There is something about getting away for a while no matter how long or how far.
Sounds like you had a fun trip with stops in Progreso and South Padre. Those are probably two places I'd go if I were to go back. How's everyone in Edinburg?? I'm glad you guys had a good time. The beach looks beautiful! Much warmer than Santa Cruz (CA) was for us two weeks ago I'm sure (in the 60's and windy).
South Padre and Progresso were definately on our "to-do list" for the trip. The beach was nice and the water warm. Stay tuned for more about our various activites with friends.
